The success of CDI Week, introduced to ICD-10-AM countries only last year, shows that CDI professionals are hungry to promote, praise and progress their field.
Awareness of CDI is slowly penetrating the collective consciousness in ICD-10-AM countries. However, there remains an ongoing challenge to increase its prominence in all aspects of healthcare delivery.
Last year, the CDI Week 2022 Survey Report, the first of its kind, had some surprising insights.
This year, we have an even more exciting opportunity, as we can compare the 2023 responses to those of last year and see what change has occurred and what progress has been made. This report is designed to be read in tandem with last year’s, to avoid duplication of similar material.
Furthermore, we hope that the survey illustrates areas of improvement for individuals, programs, organisations, and the CDI sector as whole.
As CDI continues to carve its niche within healthcare, we recognise that our journey is not defined just by data, but also by the narratives of transformation that are shared and the collective efforts of our community. Numbers certainly help, but they don’t tell the whole story.
CDI Week 2023 is not just a celebration; it is a powerful catalyst for positive change and a reflection of our commitment to continuous improvement.
We hope that the qualitative reflection of CDI Week and the quantitative data from the CDI Week Survey demonstrate the momentum of CDI in ICD-10-AM countries.
While we might be speeding towards an ever-greater impact on healthcare delivery, we’re always able to check the mirrors and adjust the course as necessary.
